Dr. Pilar López Larrubia, director of the Biomedical Magnetic Resonance Laboratory at the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas Alberto Sols, IIBM (CSIC-UAM), has had the honor of addressing the opening plenary lecture of the annual meeting of the Iberian Chapter of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance (ISMRM) which is being held these days in Lisbon. This plenary lecture has been called "Sebastian Cerdan" Plenary Lecture in homage to our dear colleague and friend, Sebastián Cerdán, who left us a few weeks ago.
In the plenary session, Dr. Lopez Larrubia spoke about the applications of magnetic resonance imaging to study pathologies of the central nervous system. To conclude, she dedicated a few words to Dr. Sebastián Cerdán highlighting his enthusiasm and passion for science, his numerous contributions in the field of magnetic resonance, as well as his sympathy with all his colleagues throughout his professional life.
