Angela García-Mato, PhD student of the Neuropathology of Hearing and Myelinopathies Group has received the Spoendlin Junior Award for one of the best papers presented at the Inner Ear Biology Workshop.
The 57th Inner Ear Biology Workshop (IEB 2022) was held in Trieste from September 10 to 13. This year it was held again in a face-to-face format after two editions of break due to COVID-19. This congress brought together professionals from various fields related to hearing, in order to present their latest results and enjoy workshops in an environment where the high interaction of the scientific community stood out.
The PhD student Ángela García-Mato, from the group of Neuropathology of Hearing and Myelinopathies, of the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas Alberto Sols (IIBM), CSIC-UAM, led by Professor Isabel Varela-Nieto presented a paper entitled: "Insulin-like growth factor 1 otoprotection in basal and stress conditions is mediated through PI3K/AKT activation in HEI-OC1 cells" and was the winner of one of the distinctions (Spoendlin Junior Award) granted in this edition of the congress (IEB 2022).
