The main applications are imaging and NMR spectroscopy studies in Bruker BioSpec® 70/16 and Bruker Avance Neo® 11.7T equipment, as well as positron emission imaging simultaneously with NMR imaging in PET/MRI equipment with high field 7T or clinical field 3T, this acquisition has special interest for the validation of compounds with diagnostic and/or therapeutic capacity in the nanomedicine research.
Biospec equipment allows the acquisition of anatomical images (T1, T2, T2* and proton density weighted images and cardiac imaging), the generation of parametric maps for the quantification of different parameters related to pathophysiology (relaxometry, magnetization transfer, diffusion, perfusion...) and the acquisition of localized spectra and spectroscopic imaging in vivo. These non-invasive techniques allow longitudinal studies over time.
The Avance Neo 11,7T allows the obtention in vitro and ex vivo spectra from different nucleus (1H, 31P, 19F, 13C, 15N...) thanks to the wide variety of high resolution probes available: TXI, TXO, BBI and HR MAS. The last probe allows the analysis of intact biological tissue samples. NMR spectroscopy enables metabolic and metabolomic studies.
MR Solutions PET/MRI equipment provides bimodal images of small animals combining the high resolution of MRI with the excellent sensitivity of PET, providing morphological, functional and metabolic information in the same study. The combination of both techniques has revolutionized the clinical field and preclinical imaging and it is an extremely useful tool in the areas of oncology, neurology, immunology and drug development.
The facility has protocols for anesthesia, administration of contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals, and a system for physiological monitoring of small animals, all of which are used during the acquisition of MRI and PET images.
The facility works with UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certified by AENOR with registration number ES-1326/2009.
