The IIBM invited to the IRBLleida Cancer Meeting

 El Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas Sols-Morreale (IIBM), CSIC-UAM ha sido invitado a participar en el tercer meeting Anual del área del Cáncer organizado por el Instituto de Investigación Biomédica de Lérida (IRBLleida).

​​​​​Four IIBM researchers: Eva Pérez-Guijarro, José Luis Orgaz, Guillermo de Cárcer and Ignacio Palmero have been invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Meeting organized by the Cancer Area of the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida). This Area is coordinated by researchers Eloi Garí Marsol and Águeda Mártinez Barriocanal.

The celebration took place on September 28th at the facilities of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lleida. This scientific conference, organized annually, aims to learn about the latest advances in the area of cancer research and also to establish collaborations. Several researchers from IRBLleida, Cristina Rodriguez from the CNIO and the four IIBM researchers mentioned above presented their lectures, after which there were discussions among all those attending the event. At the end of the day, a session was held for IRBLleida PhD students called "Walls of Science". In this session the students presented their work in poster format and José Luis, Ignacio, Guillermo and Eva were asked to be evaluators to choose the 2 best presentations.

The IRBLleida is a Health Research Institute (IIS) accredited by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII), which also integrates the biomedical research of the University of Lleida (UdL) and the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) in the province of Lleida, both at hospital and primary care level. It is currently composed of 38 groups organized in five Research Areas (Cancer; Chronic diseases, surgery and health care; Epidemiology, infectious diseases and public health; Neurosciences; and Nutrition, metabolism and cellular stress). Cancer Area is articulated in 7 research groups that develop projects in the field of basic, translational and clinical oncology
